Introduction

Fen Ditton Community Primary School’s Local Governing Body (LGB) has the responsibility of raising School standards through their three key roles of: –

  • Setting strategic direction
  • Ensuring accountability
  • Monitoring and evaluating School performance

Since the School operates within the Anglian Learning Trust (ALT), who are a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), our effectiveness is also challenged by the policies and systems set up by the Trust to this end.

The governance role is strategic, and this means that governors are NOT responsible for the day to day operation of the School, since this is the function of the Head Teacher.  The Head Teacher does however have a responsibility to work with the LGB to set the strategic direction.  The Head Teacher is therefore part of the LGB.

Our LGB structure allows for twelve governors plus the head teacher. Of the twelve, three are Parent Governors, two are Staff Governors and seven are appointed by Anglian Learning Trust and can be parents or representatives from the local community. There are currently 11 Governors in post and 1 vacancy.

We are always looking for people to expand the range of our experience, so please talk to any of us if you would like more information on how we work.

Any questions about governance at the School should be directed to the Chair at the following address: chair@fendittonprimary.org

Fen Ditton Primary School forms part of ALT and information on the Trust’s governance, finances and funding can be found here. Information about the Trustees of Anglian Learning can be found here.
